At Swanborough House in Brighton, some of the people we support are keen travellers and really enjoy exploring the United Kingdom on their holidays.

David, supported by Mark, planned a short break in Scotland! David’s son is a qualified teacher in Edinburgh, so the holiday was a perfect time to catch up. David chose a hotel in the heart of Edinburgh’s Royal Mile from where he was able to explore the city.

David and Mark visited the Edinburgh Modern Gallery to see the Ray Harryhausen – Titan of Cinema exhibition and understand how figures become cinema icons.

David also attended a Frederick Douglass review where he heard that Douglass was the most famous anti-slavery author and freedom-fighter in USA history. When he first came to Edinburgh in 1846 he felt treated as an equal. Appointed as ‘Scotland’s Antislavery agent’ he worked tirelessly for abolition, inspired by the freedom he felt on Scottish soil.

David thoroughly enjoyed his time away, seeing his son and taking in the sights of Scotland as he travelled.

Renovo Care would like to also thank Mark for the outstanding support he provided, enabling David to enjoy his holiday.
