Swanborough House is a residential service based in Brighton, East Sussex providing slow stream rehabilitation or continuing care for adults following an acquired brain injury. We provide a secure, relaxed and homely environment which is ideal for providing the support that residents need to regain their independence as much as possible within the boundaries of their condition. The accommodation is primarily single occupancy en-suite bedrooms but there is an option which supports more independent living.

Our full-time rehabilitation assistants provide on-site, personalised support for residents and coordinate social, recreational and educational activities to meet the needs of residents including computer skills, independent living skills and individual cooking. We have dedicated activities coordinators who lead group sessions encouraging residents to learn a new skill including craft, pottery, poetry and gardening. In addition, there are opportunities to participate in social activities such as gentle exercise, music appreciation, current affairs, storytelling and we hold a regular film night.

Our in=house multidisciplinary team also includes a full time therapy assistant who works alongside our central clinical team in delivering outcomes led Individualised programmes which are devised and overseen by qualified therapists. We have established links with community services who provide speech and language therapy and neuropsychology on an individual needs basis. We also support referrals to other specialist services and treatments through our network of local GP practitioners.

Our facilities at Swanborough House include 35 en-suite bedrooms and 2 flats with a communal bathroom and kitchen which are located on ground, first and second floors with lift access. Our therapy and communal rooms are on the ground floor, a games room and TV lounge are located on the 1st floor and a quiet lounge on the 2nd floor.

Swanborough House is well located with good public transport links and easy access to community activities. There is free, on-site parking.

    From the A27, take the B2123 exit towards Rottingdean/Falmer. Continue along the B2123 (Falmer Road) for approximately 2 miles. Turn right into Warren Road and then left into Wilson Avenue. Turn right into Vines Cross Road, then right on to Swanborough Drive. Swanborough House is on the left-hand side.

    By train. Brighton station is 3 miles from Swanborough House. Rail services from central London leave from London Victoria (Gatwick Express and Southern Rail) every 20 minutes or London Bridge (Thameslink) every 30 minutes taking between 50 minutes and 1 hour 10 minutes to reach Brighton station. By bus. From Brighton station, walk for 10 minutes to Churchill Square. Take the 1/1A (Brighton & Hove bus service) from Stop H Churchill Square for 22 stops (30 minutes) to Albert Road. Walk for 1 min to Swanborough House. By taxi. There is a taxi rank behind the station in Stroudley Road.
