Celebrating Christmas 2020

We’re doing everything we can to make this year’s festive season special for our patients and residents.

Here are just some of the activities planned at each of our locations!

At Hollanden Park Hospital we have organised for patients and their families an enchanting Christmas walk around the grounds of the hospital.

We’ve been hanging beautiful wind chimes, colourful wind spinners and twinkly lights to create a festive trail through woodland areas and we’ll be asking everyone to look out for glimmers of light and colour.

Although we can’t guarantee the weather we’re aiming to create a happy and memorable experience even on a cold, wet day and will be offering hot drinks, homemade treats and a warm welcome to all of our guests!

At Swanborough House final rehearsals are underway for our Christmas Festival on Tuesday 22nd December which features a full line-up of performances from both residents and staff.

The high spot of the day is the hotly anticipated Christmas pantomime – our unique version of a well-known story – Snow White and the Seven Silly Dwarves!

In a quieter moment there will be readings of traditional poems including ‘Twas the night before Christmas by Clement C Moore and Little Tree by E E Cummings as well as a performance of Little Drummer Boy on the piano.

To bring the day’s festivities to an end staff and residents are invited to sing along to some 1970s classics including…I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday and Merry Christmas Everybody!

At Victoria House the Christmas Festival for our residents and staff is on Monday 21st December and starts with a delicious buffet lunch.

Following this there will be a packed afternoon of entertainment including carol singing, an in-house disco, Christmas party games and….a prize for the best Christmas outfit!

We’re also encouraging residents to get creative and have planned festive cookie baking and Christmas card making sessions over the days leading up to Christmas.

Finally, thanks must go out to our dedicated staff at all of our locations for the hard work and efforts put in to plan a wonderful Christmas Day and Boxing Day for our patients and residents.

On behalf of myself and all the management team at Renovo I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Please keep safe and well in these challenging times.
