Dr Lal Landham

Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine, Hollanden Park Hospital

About

Dr Lal Landham has been a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine at the Disablement Services Centre, Medway Maritime Hospital, Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust, since February 1991.

He has also acted as the Lead Clinician for Rehabilitation services at the Hollanden Park Hospital since 2010, taking responsibility for the management of in-patient services in neurorehabilitation and out-patient services in musculoskeletal rehabilitation. With expertise in both these disciplines he has a special interest in the rehabilitation of patients following traumatic brain injury and stroke.

Lal is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London).  He has previously acted as Regional (South East Thames) Speciality Advisor in Rehabilitation Medicine for the Royal College of Physicians.

Prior to taking on the consultant role in Kent, Dr Landham was a Harvard Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital, USA, working on the correction of limb deformities.

Lal’s area of expertise includes most aspects of diagnosis, assessment and management of patients with neurological and musculoskeletal disabilities. He has gained extensive experience in previously held roles including Chairman of the International Society of Prosthetics and Orthotics, UK, a member of the Veterans’ Prosthetic Panel, NHS England and also a member of the Rehabilitation and Disability, Clinical Reference Group, NHS England.
